When is it anemia?

Anemia is suspected when hemoglobin levels fall below reference values. In women, anemia is suspected if hemoglobin is below 117 g/L and in men, if it is below 134 g/L. Symptoms of anemia can include fatigue, paleness, and shortness of breath.
