How is chlamydia treated?

Chlamydia is treated with antibiotics, most commonly azithromycin or doxycycline. The treatment is effective and usually short-term, but it is important to follow the doctor’s instructions and take all prescribed medications. Testing and, if necessary, treating sexual partners is also important to prevent the spread of the infection.
