How is blood type inherited?

Blood type is genetically inherited from parents to children. Each parent gives one blood type gene to the child, and the child’s blood type is determined by the combination of these two genes. The child’s blood type can either be the same as the parents’ or a combination of the parents’ blood type characteristics.
