Vital Laboratory Package Pregnancy – For more information on your body before, during and after pregnancy

Are you planning to get pregnant, expecting a baby or have recently given birth? The Pregnancy Health Check is a basic health check tailored specifically for this important period in life when the body has new needs. It analyses important values such as folate, prolactin, blood sugar and thyroid levels – all to give you the best conditions before, during or after pregnancy. Gain insights into your health and more knowledge about your body.

Note. The health check includes a doctor’s commentary. It may be useful to fill in your health profile before the test to give the doctor the best possible basis for the analysis. You do this in ‘My journal’ where you can answer a few questions about yourself.

The Vital laboratory package Pregnancy is a good complement to your regular follow-ups via, for example, a midwife’s clinic or fertility clinic. It can also be supplemented with other tests and examinations such as NIPT or STI tests (Hepatitis B, syphilis, rubella and HIV).

Before ordering

Here’s how it works:

  1. Choose a laboratory package: Simply select one of our pre-designed laboratory packages and place your order on the website. When ordering a laboratory package on Vital.se, you choose which laboratory you want to visit for your sample collection. Each collection point indicates which laboratory they use. You can also order individual tests. You can find all our laboratory packages here.
  2. Visit a laboratory and take your blood sample: You can then go and have your blood sample taken at your convenience. Most of our sampling locations offer drop-in services, but in some cases, you may need to contact them to make an appointment. You can find all our laboratories here.

Anyone who is over 18 years old, has a Swedish personal identity number, and a BankID can order a test.

You cannot use BankID with a code token or BankID with a file.

The order must always be filled in with the details of the person to be tested. If you want to order tests as a gift for someone else, gift cards are available. The gift card is used in Vital’s online store, and the person who gets the gift can choose which test package they want to order.

However, you can purchase a gift card that you send to a person of your choice. The recipient should also have Mobile BankID, a Swedish personal identity number, and be over 18 years old to be able to place an order with the gift card.

Vital is not a publicly funded service, so exemption cards are not valid.

It’s up to individual employers to determine what they consider as wellness activities. In Epassi, Vital cannot be included as it’s a VAT-exempt service.

All of Vital’s services are exempt from VAT.

One must first place an order with the gift card here at vital.se for a referral to be created. The recipient of the gift card then chooses a health check from Vital’s website and adds it to the shopping cart. The gift card code is entered under “discount code/gift card” and the amount is deducted from the total.

Thereafter, one enters their personal details and the referral is created electronically in the name of the customer.

The customer should thus have a Swedish personal identity number, BankID, and be over 18 years old.

  1. You go to Laboratory packages
  2. You select the desired laboratory package and/or individual test by clicking “Add to cart.”
  3. You go to the shopping cart (top right corner).
  4. You click “Use discount code/gift card” and enter the code.
  5. Proceed to checkout and enter all the required information.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy can be detected in a blood test as early as 7-12 days after fertilization when the level of the hCG hormone rises.

If your menstruation is more than a week late and pregnancy is not a possible cause, it is advisable to consult a doctor. The delay can be due to stress, hormonal changes, or health issues.

On average, couples become pregnant within six months of trying, but this can vary greatly.

Morning sickness usually ends by the end of the fourth month of pregnancy, but sometimes it may continue longer.

Fertilization usually occurs during ovulation when an egg is released from the ovary. This typically happens about 14 days before the start of the next menstrual cycle. Fertilization is possible when sperm meets the egg in the fallopian tube.

Pregnancy can usually be detected by a pregnancy test about two weeks after fertilization, which corresponds to the time of the first missed menstrual cycle.

During ovulation, the likelihood of pregnancy is at its highest. Studies show that about 30% of women become pregnant if they have intercourse on the day of ovulation. This percentage can vary depending on individual factors.

The egg is capable of being fertilized for about 12-24 hours after ovulation. Sperm can live in a woman’s body for up to 5 days, so fertilization can occur if intercourse has taken place up to five days before ovulation.

A woman is born with about 1-2 million eggs, but their number decreases with age. By puberty, a woman has about 300,000-500,000 eggs left. Throughout her life, a woman only uses about 300-400 eggs in ovulations.

Pregnancy usually begins to show externally at the beginning of the second trimester, around 12-16 weeks, but this can vary individually.

It is advisable to take a pregnancy test when your period is at least one day late. The test is most accurate if taken the first morning after waking up.

The risk of gestational diabetes can be reduced with healthy lifestyle choices, such as a balanced diet and regular exercise.

The likelihood of pregnancy is very low during menstruation and immediately afterward, as the egg has not yet matured. However, since the timing of ovulation can vary, it is impossible to determine completely “safe” days. Therefore, if avoiding pregnancy is important, it is recommended to consistently use reliable methods of contraception.

Preparation for pregnancy starts with healthy lifestyle habits and good planning. Begin by consuming a varied diet rich in vitamins and minerals, especially folic acid, which is crucial for the development of the fetal nervous system. Ensure adequate exercise, rest, and stress management, all of which contribute to a healthy pregnancy. Quit smoking and alcohol use, and check with a healthcare professional that your current medications are suitable during pregnancy.

The possibility of becoming pregnant starts to increase five days before ovulation because sperm can live in a woman’s body for up to 5 days. The greatest chance of becoming pregnant is 1-2 days before ovulation and on the day of ovulation itself.

The possibility of becoming pregnant is highest during ovulation, which usually occurs about 10-16 days before the next menstrual period begins. This period of time varies between women and from month to month. Sperm can live in a woman’s body for up to 5 days, so intercourse a few days before ovulation can lead to pregnancy.
